What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is penetration of the skin with needles to stimulate acupuncture points. In Traditional Chinese Medicne (TCM), the body has 14 meridians or energy channels. Stimulating specific acupuncture points this will correct imbalances in the flow of qi (life energy) in the meridians of the body.

Is Acupuncture Safe?

Single use, sterile, disposable needles are used in acupuncture treatments. The experience of acupuncture is different for everyone. Most people experience no or minimal pain as the needles are inserted into the acupuncture points. Some people feel energized by treatments, and some will feel relaxed.

Is Acupuncture Covered by Extended Health Care?

Currently the licence of acupuncture that I hold is billed as a modality of massage therapy. Therefore, you may bereimbursed for your treatments but it will be under your massage therapy allowance.
